いじわるばかりされて、かんにんぶくろの"お"が切れたしっぽはある夜しばいぬの寝ている隙に家出することに。

朝目覚めたしばいぬは、しっぽがいないことに気づいて大慌て。もしかして盗まれた？けいさつけんに協力してもらって他の動物たちのしっぽを調べますが…

仲良しなんかじゃないけれど、そばにいないと落ち着かない。
ケンカしたかと思うとくっついて遊んでる。

そんな兄弟のなんとも言えない関係と、自分のしっぽを追い回してしまう柴犬の様子から着想したお話です。
